AmsterFukingDam

Finally, I'm getting my blogs going again, I've been slacking.Amsterdam, what a great trip, even though it started off a little shaky. I decided to go out the night before we left, well got really drunk, and somehow my phone magically changed time zones on me, so my alarm didn't go off like it should've. And finally I wake up to Olivias' call, where are you!!!??? So I was freaking out, throw everything in my suit case and booked it to the Hauptbahnhof. We were all one ticket, and I was like 30 minutes late, so they had to leave with out me. I could pay 100 euros for a one way ticket there, or just stay home and forget about it. Then I thought to my self, of course I have to go. So I just paid for it and hopped on the train. It sucked paying that much for it because in the first place I only paid like 75 or something for there and back, but oh well, I was on my way. So I had like 4 connection trains on the way there, and on my 3 connection I was loading and I see someone, I'm omgsh, is that Olivia? No way, I'm still drunk. And it was!! I was like how did I meet up with you guys!! Turns out one of their trains was a little behind schedule so they missed their connection. So in the end we all ended up in Amsterdam together, after a 6 hour journey. We were staying in a rented house. It was Olivia, Katie, Sinaed, Nik and Meg. Then the other people staying with us was a group of Italians and group of Brits all from Heidelberg Uni. The house was really nice and big and lots of bed and a big TV and all that good stuff. And it was perfect location, right downtown and central, we could walk everywhere. The first night we went to a "Coffee shop", a lot different than your normal coffee shop, as most know, marijuana is legal to smoke and have in Amsterdam. You can go to a coffee shop and buy and smoke. Very different culture. The next day we went out and did some tourist stuff. We all broke up into our little groups, as the ones we showed up with. We went to the Rembrandt Museum then went to a Coffee Shop again. Then went to this florescent museum place, it was cool, but it was small, a room with some neon stuff. Later that night we had space cakes (bad idea) then went out to the bar for a little bit, then came home. The third day we went to Anne Franks house. We had to wait in line for 30 minutes, so not to bad. I really like it, you got to see real diary entries and  rooms where she lived and all that good stuff. We eat pancakes after that, but not your average pancake, they were very large and flat, kinda like a crepe, but I didn't like it. We hurried home and packed our stuff and walked to the train station. The train ride home was a better process than the first, first off, I didn't miss it and we only had one connection in Köln. I actually slept a good amount of the time because I was very tired. I tried meeting up with Dolores in Amsterdam, a foreign exchange student who once went to my high school, but it didn't happen. The language barrier wasn't to hard in Amsterdam, most people spoke english. Overall a great trip, no drama and a lot of fun, very chill and laid back. I'd love to go back and see more of Amsterdam, considering we weren't there for very long.
